With nearly 600 unique selections you could say we are passionate about wine at Mario’s Italian Restaurant! For six consecutive years we’ve been honored with Wine Spectator magazine’s Award of Excellence as well as Awards of Unique Distinction from Wine Enthusiast magazine.
The driving force of behind our world class program is Dante’s Director Jennifer Zangrilli and Mario’s General Manager Gary Waite. Spending countless hours searching for rare, new and unique additions Gary and Jenn are constantly tasting and researching to keep Mario’s program top notch! In addition to their years of world and industry experience, Jenn continues her coursework in the Court of Master Sommeliers, recently achieving Level 1 at The Culinary Institute of America.
In addition to our newly built bottle storage center we utilize a state of the art wine preservation system for 12 of our 19 wines offered by the glass.
Our WineStation Intelligent Pour and Preservation system is a quite beautiful thing. A rotating selection of 12 bottle choices are carefully preserved for up to 60 days. These selections and are intelligently poured and managed by a dedicated laptop computer. Each bottle is uncorked and tapped inside of a locked, climate controlled cabinet. As the wine is dispensed from the bottle argon gas replaces the space preventing oxidation. This sophisticated system has allowed offer more prestigious bottles by the glass making it more affordable for you to experience expensive bottles without having to buy the bottle!
