Dante’s Nightlife is thrilled to welcome back from New York City singer/songwriter Nate Walker for a three night stay at The Saloon (12/4 & 12/5) and bar bleu (12/6). All three shows take stage at 9pm.
Nate Walker’s music has been described as “well-crafted earthy indie-rock with pop sensibilities.” With smart hooks, driving beats, and honest vocals, his songs have been compared to those of Elvis Costello, Weezer, Foster the People, and Butch Walker.
Nate cut his teeth in the State College music scene, where he fronted the band Bluesuedegroove, who toured extensively and independently released three albums. After the group disbanded, a move to New York by way of Philadelphia found Nate pursuing a solo career. Within a few years, he had played countless city venues, released an EP of his own material, opened for Ben Folds, played as a backing musician for several different NY artists, and tour managed two national acts. Nate has had the humbling fortune to work with legendary producers Phil Ramone and Jack Douglas, songwriter Claude Kelly, and R&B artist Jay Sean. He has also composed background instrumental tracks that have been featured on MTV and Netflix.
Four years ago, Nate stepped away from city life to explore another passion and launched an organic farm in Pennsylvania. Music kept calling, though, and last year he returned to New York to reclaim his songwriting roots. Nate is currently in pre-production for an EP of new material, which he plans to release by February 2015. With shows already filling his tour schedule, look for Nate Walker to be coming to your area soon!
